Personal goal planning can seem a daunting task, but what if I said it doesn’t need to be. Reaching Your Goals With Easy Strategies really works! So let’s get into it.
There are so many ways to plan…
We need to breakdown your goals into easy bites, because if it’s not easy then it’s unlikely you’ll be motivated to get there.

Once you have your goals ready – it’s time to break these down…
Behind Reaching Your Goals
It’s easy to look at your goal and think “How do I even start?”
It may seem like a big challenge, you know you want it..but perhaps that hesitancy is lurking. Shut away hesitant thoughts – you can do it!
The key is to start small…
Learn your why
What is your reason behind these goals
Why is it important to you
Dig deep because when things get tough, this is WHY you’re doing this goal.
Small habits get you there
I’m a big advocate for creating small habits to get to your end goal.
I made time to write everyday for 15 minutes and finished writing a book in 1 year. This was down to a series of small habits implemented in order to make writing easy.
For example:
-My laptop was set up on the dining table with notepad beside it.
-I had planned out my book beforehand, sketched out the plot and had a rough plan of what would happen when (for example, at 10,000 words I wanted to have introduced all the characters, by 40,000 words I wanted the two main characters to have shared a love scene, etc)
By doing the above, I made everything easy and within reach so when it came to writing I could glance at my notebook to see where I was in the story and launch into writing.
And a novel was written!
I was conscious that 15 minutes disappears quickly – so instead of wasting my time glancing at my phone and making a cup of tea, I spent that short time purely writing.
Habits are key
Good habits are behind achieving your goals. If you want to become healthier, but your habits are bringing you down, due to eating chocolate every evening sitting watching Netflix / sleeping in each morning, leaving you unorganised and running late to work without having breakfast.
These habits could seem innocent at first but they hinder any chance of becoming healthier. If you woke earlier, had a balanced breakfast and planned your meals, you might not need to eat chocolate every night.
Bad habits can spill out and disrupt.
If you are interested in habits, then this blog is a good read
Reaching Your Goals With Easy Strategies
What’s your goal / objective? What do you really want? Get specific, something that is deep within you – no wishy-washy goals here…think of something you really REALLY want:
Write down your goals. Then take your first goal and break this down into 3 smaller goals
Example.
Goal: I want to be a healthier version of me – to have more energy for me and my family.
3 Goal Breakdown:
Eat nutritious wholefoods, cut out junk food
Exercise at-least 3 times a week
Reduce drinking wine during the week
Great job – so you have drafted up how you’re going to start tackling your goals.
Next is to breakdown those goals. How can you introduce good habits to achieve these..
Example.
After dinner every evening – prepare over-night oats for the next morning. Using healthy ingredients. e.g. nut-butter, blueberries, oats, almond milk etc. (This organised breakfast ensures you don’t eat unplanned junk food)
Before bed, have a space ready to do yoga for the next morning. Space to include bottle of water, headphones, yoga mat and a notebook. Each morning you can journal for your mind, and do yoga stretches for your body.
Instead of snacking late afternoon – have a blender ready on your kitchen work top, with frozen fruit and veg ready to go in your freezer. Whip up a healthy smoothie instead of reaching for the chocolate.
When kids are in bed, treat yourself to a podcast followed by bubble-bath. Why not take a short walk around the block to listen to a podcast, then sink into a bubble-bath. This new habit does something with your evenings, replacing that old habit of drinking wine and watching TV.
Getting to your goals through habits is an easier way, as it’s just a part of your day. If you have things planned, laid out, ready to use – these become easy ‘go-to’ processes, turning them into habits.
