I’m a Scottish lass, born and bred in the highlands. I’m from a very quiet rural peninsula on the west coast, which overlooks mountains and a loch.
When the time came to ‘fly the nest’ I went to study costume design in Edinburgh.
There, I immersed myself in the world of sewing and design, from historical costumes to the latest trends. My fascination with history and fashion steered me towards designing and making costumes, a passion that only grew stronger over time.
For several years, I ran my own clothing label, deeply inspired by my Scottish heritage and my love for costume. But life had another creative path in store for me. I never planned to become an author, yet the idea sparked while I was working a nine-to-five office job. During the week, I felt like a tightly wound ball of stress, but the weekends allowed my creativity to flourish. Over those years in the corporate grind, I penned my first novel.
In 2020, I took the plunge and published it. To my amazement, people read it and loved it! This unexpected success ignited my passion for writing, and now, I focus on crafting stories about strong women who overcome obstacles to chase their dreams.
- I’m very stubborn – if somebody says I can’t do something – then I’m 100% going to do it, no matter what!
- I trekked through Nepal, and went as far up as 5,416 meters at Thorong La Pass.
- I am trained as a radio DJ. I love alternative music – in particular shoe gaze, psychedelic, and folk. I go to gigs whenever I can!
- I’m a bit of a thrill seeker – I’ve skydived, hang-glided, scuba dived and white water rafted.
- I’m an ardent lover of costume dramas and all things period-related. My ultimate bliss is found in the simple pleasures of a glass of wine, a generous bag of crisps, and immersing myself in the latest Jane Austen adaptation on TV!
