Simple Morning Habits To Help You Feel Good

by ClaireGillies Leave a Comment

It is widely known that creating morning habits can significantly increase your energy, reduce stress and even increase your productivity. Apart from these, it can do so much more..Simple Morning Habits To Help You Feel Good…

Let’s dive in!

I went through the faze of being a morning person…

I would journal, go for a morning walk, listen to educational podcasts, prepare a healthy breakfast – whenever I started the day early, I would see positive impacts. Waking earlier and making the most of my morning, really improved my mood, health and productivity.

But why stop?

Life happens – winter is a big hurdle, demands of a job, family – all play a part.

For me I would struggle to get up in winter, particularly in Scotland when the sun would hide until 9 am! Then once I had a baby, that urge to wake up earlier evaporated..I preferred getting as much shut eye as possible so I could just function as a human!

Build Your Own Routine

You don’t need lots of extra time for a morning routine – do what works for you. Some people rave about waking at 5am.

There are many books that talk about creating a morning routine for success! I haven’t read any of them, I’m sure they’re good..but instead I went with my own intuition.

And you can too!

I implemented these routines below and greatly see the benefits.

Morning Soul

The first thing is to meditate. I like to use guided meditations, particularly a 10-15 minute gratitude/manifesting meditation from YouTube. This is perfect when you have just woken up and still in a relaxed, sleepy state. I usually creep into my living-room when the family are still asleep and lay on the sofa with my headphones on. I curl up with a blanket over me, bathed in the morning sunlight and enjoy the process of meditation.

My favourite morning meditations:

Morning Mind

Journal your thoughts. I like to list all that I am grateful for – focusing on just three things.

The birds singing, my beautiful loving family, the calm still morning, my good night’s sleep, my comfortable home for keeping me sheltered..

Once you start, it becomes more easy to list these, and a great place to focus your mind for the start of your day.

Morning Body

Stretch or exercise your body. I favour a 10-15 minute yoga stretch, using YouTube videos I have saved to my favourites. I adore Sarah Beth Yoga, who is calm and perfect for the morning.

These are my go-to videos:
