Looking after your mindset is one of the most important things you can do for your own health and wellbeing, and will have a positive affect on the people around you. How To Cultivate Your Mindset For The Better, I’ll share my tips that have changed my life and they are going to change yours too!
Gratitude journal
This was one of the first things I introduced into my daily routines, and I have not regretted it. Practising gratitude encourages you to focus on the good and increases your happiness, it can – reduce stress, improve sleep, reduce loneliness, improve relationships, improve heart health.
Meditate
Meditation has been in existence for thousands of years and has remained as a way for us to stay connected to our bodies – which is becoming increasingly important in today’s distracted world! It can also – reduce stress, increase focus, reduce depression, improve memory, reduce anxiety to name a few!
Subliminal Affirmations
Subliminal messages are sounds or images that are too quick for most people to consciously perceive, but can still stimulate the brain and affect behaviour. Subliminal messages were first introduced in the 1950s by a movie theatre and were shown to audiences to promote snack sales. They found up to 20% more Coke purchases were made and over 50% more popcorn were sold.
But rather than allowing only marketing companies use it for their gain, we can use subliminal affirmations to tap into our subconscious to improve our way of thinking.
Law of Attraction
Meaning that positive thoughts bring positive results into a person’s life, while negative thoughts bring negative outcomes. It takes work and time to retrain your brain into thinking positively but the outcome is worth it! Rather than focusing on what you don’t want, try focusing on what you do want. Instead of wishing others badly, wish them well. By sending love out, you get love coming back to you. For more on Law of Attraction – click here.
How To Cultivate Your Mindset For The Better
Below is a guide on how I implement these skills in my daily life. If these resonate with you, then please try them out. Some practises work better than others, these are just to give you a baseline to start a connection to yourself and others:
Meditate:
First thing in the mornings I meditate. I lay on my sofa, stick headphones on and listen to my favourite guided meditations on YouTube. There’s so many to choose from but I love ones of no more than 15 minutes that focus on manifestation, gratitude and positive meditations.
Gratitude Journaling:
After meditating I spend a few minutes writing down 3-5 things I am grateful for. I recommend having a notebook especially for this. Just write them down as bullet points – Simple!
Subliminal Affirmations:
Every morning when my little one has a nap, I dedicate time to write and listen to subliminal affirmations of health, wealth and positivity. This is a very effective process, you don’t notice or become distracted – it simply sounds like background music so you can undertake tasks whilst listening to them.
Laws Of Attraction:
This is ongoing throughout the day. This is a part of how I live and my ethos. If I encounter a negative thought, I acknowledge it and allow myself to find the root cause. Ultimately, this negativity does not serve me – so I send out love to it and let it go. If I’m stressed, having a difficult day or struggling with parenting, whatever the reason, I take a deep breath in before my emotions escalate.
This is a constant process of acknowledging and letting go. It’s not about pretending to be positive – it’s about striving to become love, and in return you will get love back.
