Lost your drive and wondering what it’s all for? It’s time to shake things up and reset! Feeling Lost & Unambitious? How To Get Your Sparkle Back.
Let’s go!
Has your confidence taken a hit? Maybe your life has turned into a predictable lump of boring-ness? There’s many things that make us feel deflated and stuck. It could be something big and chaotic that disrupts you, or maybe it’s been a long time coming and you can’t ignore it anymore…
My Journey
If you’ve read this blog before, you may know that I have experienced some turbulent times. It’s something I’m still navigating through, but I have learned a lot from listening to myself and trusting in my own intuition. Now I see many people go through these troubled times and seek guidance, if I can help someone who may be going through this too, even one person – then this post is worth writing.
As much as I would like to say I have my shit together, this post is as much for me as it is for you. It took me time to process deaths in my family, and currently not having a place to really call home, that resulted in me feeling lost and unambitious.
There’s many aspects in my life that I feel a little lost…
One thing I noticed was that I didn’t care about what I wore, or what I looked like. Now I know this is not important, it’s who you are inside. Since having a fashion label, I knew that if I made myself look acceptable, then it would help my mood. However, knowing this still did not motivate me to take a pride in my appearance, I just wore any clothes I could find. I had no interest in shopping, it all seemed overwhelming and exhausting, and a big thing for me…I didnt know who I was anymore. The old me loved colour, but the new me didnt feel excited for the colours like I once did.
I felt dried up and believed my sparkle had evaporated for good.
Feeling Lost & Unambitious? – Start Small
With my heartache, I chose to let my emotions guide me.
Since relocating from Australia, I had left Autumn to then come into Summer over in the UK.
Which meant I had no real wardrobe. I needed clothes.
Since I wasn’t as excited by clothes as I once was, I waited and instead focussed on my mindset and soul. This time was rocky, but I knew I needed to keep certain areas of my life in check and let the less important factors slide. I had a family relying on me to be present.

So, I worked on the most important areas in my life and put the other parts on hold. I did the minimal and worked on acknowledging, processing and accepting what was happening, and tried not to brush any feelings aside.
Steps To Help Get You out of the funk
Feeling Lost & Unambitious? How To Get Your Sparkle Back
Firstly, allow yourself to feel your emotions, there is no harm in listening to your heart. If anything, this is essential – take time out to feel, encourage those emotions to show themselves. Only then can you accept and move forward.
Once you have taken the time out, and now feel ready to welcome motivation, below are my suggestions to help get your sparkle back…
Stop the routines
Try different things and that starts with making changes and alterations the easy way. Look at your day, do you do the same thing everyday? Shake things up! Have a different breakfast, go for a morning walk, try a meditation, call a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, go to a different coffee shop… It doesnt need to be a crazy epic step, just something different. You may find you notice things you hadnt before.
Read new books
Try reading new or different authors. Do you usually read fiction, then why not try non-fiction or a memoir about someone you’ve been interested in. Mix it up, try something new. Head to your local charity shop and buy something you wouldn’t think of reading. Get a different perspective.
Get out in nature
Most of us will walk around the same parks everyday – taking the dog for a walk at the same time and place. Why not hop in the car for 5 minutes and start a new walk? Or on your lunch break head outside even to sit and eat your meal?
Move your body
Walking, stretching, doing anything to get your body moving is important. If you can’t be ‘bothered’ to exercise, this could be contributing to why you’re feeling flat! Get your blood pumping today!
Let go of your negative
Make a list of all you want to let go of. Could you be holding onto resentments? It’s time to forgive people. Or do you want to stop talking negatively about yourself or others? Any traits you want to work on and let go, this is the time to start. Have a sit down and think of what you don’t want in your life anymore:
I don’t want to be irritable – I want to be more relaxed
I need to stop talking negatively about people – it’s not my right to comment
I want to forgive my friend/parent/sibling…because they were only doing what they believed was for the best
When you’ve made your list, read through it several times. Once you are ready, burn it in a fire as a symbolic gesture to start afresh.
Begin Again
I hope these tips help guide you and get you out of the mud. Take action and try new things – that’s the key for getting your sparkle back. These droughts happen to everyone, it’s time to acknowledge them and find your way back onto your own unique path…at your own pace.
