We all have dreams and goals for the future. For some these dreams and goals may be hazy, to others they may know exactly what they want. But I say, Don’t wait for joy – bring it towards you now. It’s easy to put off things until you reach that goal, but by getting into that state of mind now will make those exciting manifestations and goals come alive all the sooner!
Everyone can dream, but does everyone get their dream? A lot of excuses can be made of why one person gets their dream and the other doesn’t…
Money…free time….family support….no kids….bags of energy….
That’s why someone can achieve their dream, right?
It’s easy to give into your own fear of failure and not try. And instead paint the other person as ‘lucky’ and privileged enough to get their dream. Of course there are privileged people in this world and under-privileged people. But we all have different dreams.
What’s your dream? Do you want to live it now rather than wait…?
Don’t wait for joy – bring it towards you now
Below are some ways you can get closer to your dreams…goals…and manifestations (however you want to name them). It’ll show you just how easy you can start living the life you want…with a little step each day.
I’ve kept this frame of mind and I am reaching my own goals and manifestations.
Imagine what it is you want
Write down your dream. Really picture this. What would you like to do on a normal day in this dream life? This is a useful exercise particularly if you’ve never really acknowledged what you would like from your life. Really make time to envisage this and what would bring you joy.
This is a meaningful exercise and will help you see what’s the first important step you need to take.
Dig into the details
Now, let’s say you want to live a slower pace of life.
You want to work for yourself and make more time for your family.
Maybe you see yourself doing yoga every morning. You then drop off the kids to school and spend some time journaling/writing morning pages with a cup of coffee from the bistro across the road. Once you have spent time on yourself, you then go to your studio to work in your dream job as a writer and sculptor.
Sounds lovely doesnt it?
Now, how can you start to live this dream life now…today?
Live the small details…to get to the big outcome.
Do you put off doing any of these things…
Maybe you want that life but you barely write or even know how to sculpt?
Perhaps you don’t even like yoga…or ever get a cup of coffee at the cool bistro across the road?
Why are you not putting these desires into action? If these could bring you joy, what are you waiting for?
How would your dream life happen if you can’t even take little steps to get towards it.
Choose small
Thinking of what you want, and getting there are completly different things…but you don’t need to wait for some big event that tells you ‘You’ve made it – get ready – this is your dream just about to happen!’
No, some people don’t even realise when they are in the life they wished for, because all the steps towards it were so tiny, that they took the process for granted and are then wishing for something else.
What would give you joy now?
Today I wanted a hot drink to take with me to the forest. It was the perfect autumn day in the scottish highlands so I decided to take my toddler bramble picking in the wood. But before we got there I did something I never thought I would – I got myself a delicious chai latte from a cafe on the way. When you live in the country, it’s easy to think – oh i’ll just take a flask! Since never being near anything, we often just need to do things for ourselves. But I decided to swing by the cafe on the way, and oh my! Just the act of doing something I wanted to do gave me such joy.
So I walked around a gloriously sunny woodland, sipping my autumnal drink and getting those vibes that I truly love about this season.

Now, looking at your dream list…
What little things could you bring into your current daily life?
Say you want a personal chef to cook so you can eat healthier meals…then why not take time to follow recipes that will nourish you. You are worth the time and effort to do this.
Or you want an active lifestyle – could you incorporate a walk as part of your routine in the mornings or evenings?
Or maybe you want to treat yourself now and again to something delicious. You could get bespoke cupcakes from a cafe nearby.
What do you enjoy?
Fun living will get you to the fun life
Many people, (women in particular!) find it difficult to put themselves first. Doing something that brings you joy may make you feel as if you are being selfish. But dreams are unique and individual to you. What brings you happiness is your own taste. So as much as you may feel guilty about treating yourself from time to time, it’s necessary.
So eat that cake, or don’t eat that cake if that’s your dream…Take the tiny aspect of your dream life and incorporate it into your current way of living. The more you do this, the more you will gradually become immersed in your dream life..until it’s just your life.
